Housing Selection and Requirements
Living on campus can be one of the best experiences of a college student's life. The focus of our student living program is to complement one's formal classroom education by offering students the "total university experience" for personal growth and development.
All incoming first-year students are required to live in Utica University residence halls for their first two years, unless residing at home with their legal parent or guardian who live within a 30 mile radius. All transfer students are required to have lived on a campus for 4 semesters. This means incoming second year transfers are required to reside on campus unless residing at home with their legal parent or guardian. For more information on our Two-Year Housing Requirement and exceptions to the policy, please click here
Welcome to Utica University! You are now about to become a member of our residential community. It is our hope that your experience within the residence halls is more than just a place to lay your head after classes. We hope that you will involve yourself as an active member of this community in order to help us maintain a positive, safe, and worthwhile residential experience.
Housing Options for New Students:
- Incoming First-Year students can expect to be assigned to North or South Halls. First year students are not assigned into single occupancy rooms, unless a medical accommodation is required. More information about North and South Halls can be found here.
- Incoming Transfer students may be assigned to any of our residence halls. Our most common housing assignments for Transfer students are within one of two transfer communities (Bell/Tower Hall, or Pioneer Village)
- All-Gender Housing: All-Gender Housing is designed for students who may want to live with someone regardless of their gender, gender identity, or gender expression. In these assignments, legal sex is not a determining factor for assignment. If you would like to discuss All-Gender Housing options please reach out to Lauren Waszkiewicz, Assistant Director of Housing Operations.
Housing Selection Process for Fall 2024:
- The 2024-2025 On-Campus Housing Contract is now available to review and sign here.
- If necessary: Any student requesting any medical accommodation should contact the Office of Learning Services.
- Once your On-Campus Housing Contract is complete, please complete the Roommate Compatibility/Preferences Form.
- Next, you will set up a Moose Match profile and find your roommate! MooseMatch will open up April 1, 2024
- MooseMatch is our online roommate finder! You can login and create a profile and then you can search for people with similar qualities to find someone who may be a good match. From there, you can chat in the chat feature and identify if you want to be roommates! Staff members do not review your MooseMatch profile, so please be honest in your answers to assist in finding the best roommate!
- Please note: If you already know who you want to live with you both must create a MooseMatch account and request each other.
- The deadline for requesting a specific roommate is June 1, 2024.
- Students will be able to view their room assignment beginning on Monday, July 8, 2024.
